RESIDENTIAL SUPERVISOR

MODERNISING A TRADITIONAL SERVICE

As a Company, we work with our progressive Clients to provide a Service to challenge the traditional House Parent role in Boarding Residences. Previously, many of our Clients had followed the regular path of providing House Parents who worked at a residence to 2300hrs, then slept in rooms provided by the school or college, being on-call if a student had the confidence to wake them in the early hours.

Assessing this model, our Clients now utilise Hyline Education to provide a 24-hour awake service for their Students, increasing the security awareness of the residence, whilst not detracting from the overall pastoral provision.

In order to off-set any additional costs to the Client, we have no need for bedroom space, allowing more students to be able to board at the residence therefore increasing the income potential.

Please check-out our “Case Study” for an example of how we work closely with our Clients to provide a more rounded, and cost effective Service.

CASE STUDY

Maria works in a busy Under 18 Residence in the centre of Oxford. Our client, a busy Independent College offering teaching for ages 13-18yrs, took the progressive step in providing a 24-hour awake service for its residents.

As part of team, she assumes full responsibility for the health, welfare, and security of the students of a 52-bedroom residence. Working a 12-hour shift, her roles can range from supervising meals through to providing pastoral support to students in the early hours of the morning.

Placing a regular team in a residence reassures the students, bringing familiarity and consistency, all important factors in supporting students in what has become their “home” environment.

Maria holds an Enhanced DBS Certificate (entered onto the Update Service) and is First Aid trained. Highly developed Safeguarding skills are provided through a combination of Hyline and our Client. She is security licensed in line with requirements of the Security Industry Authority and the Home Office, enforcing our client’s commitment to provide a more robust care and security package for their students.
